        Laila's journey

3rd October 2022.

Our brave inspirational Laila Lou's 2nd journey to start fighting again has started. She has them boxing gloves back on big time. She's been amazingingly brave as always with the news she needs surgery remove the nodes & tumour on her lung.

After an awful month with scans and the wait for results for the best way forward. We finally got the date for the 5th October to remove all. Tomorrow Laila goes into the ward at the Brompton & surgery on Wednesday. Laila as always dealt with her surgery with such bravery strength and her quick wit & humour.

6th October 2022.

Laila has had so much love & support &  Laila's surgery went well and she is now home in her bed recovering & relaxing after being so super brave.

Her surgeon came in to see her this morning and said "wow Laila you look great, amazing in fact, how are you feeling. She replied "I'm fine, I want to go home."  He said "well lets see how you go pain wise this afternoon as your surgery was a bit bigger than I originally thought but you look so well so hopefully I can get you home.".

Laila has had a further setback, we are in discussions with her consultants & I will update you all in due course.  Giving it a massive right hook Laila Lou.

18th October 2022  Go Fund me.

Help Laila in her fight against cancer, was organised by Ellie Decourcey raising an incredible amount.

Laila was absolutely blown away with the support they received from so many kind people and so thankful to everyone that shared/donated in helping to share Laila's story and raising such an incredible figure.

31st October 2022

Laila had her clinic oncology appointment today, her chest scan hasn't changed from after her Lung surgery in early October, Laila is so relived as she still doesn't want to have chemotherapy. So the next steps/plan is we go back in 6 weeks to have another CT scan, if Laila is concerned of any new symptoms before to contact.

19th December 2022  Thank you all so much for the love, messages & support through this very difficult time.

Laila has yet another big battle ahead. Sadly her scan in December showed the cancer has returned in her lung & pleural space. Being told its growing fast so the symptoms needed to be treated.

It's been a very tough timer all especially Laila & I can honestly say her bravery & strength amazes me daily, she is one strong lady thinking of others always so proud of my Laila Lou.

Today, we went to UCLH to hopefully start a targeted drug medication called cabozantinib to try and slow things down.

Laila is really trying her hardest to carryon and live a normal life even though she's in pain. Over the weekend her pain increased & today at her clinic appointment her oncologist sent her for a chest X-ray.

The fluid her left lung had got worse since last Monday this is causing her pain & symptoms.

Saturday 27th May 2023

Laila Lou gained her angel wings and heartbreakingly

lost her courageous battle.

Laila passed away at home with all her family around

her peacefully.

Spread your wings butterfly you will always be in our hearts. xxxx
